The adult dosage for Doan’s® Extra Strength Caplets is two (2) caplets with a full glass of water every 6 hours, not to exceed eight (8) caplets in 24 hours. Doan’s ® Extra Strength Caplets are not to be used by children under 12 years unless directed by a doctor. Be sure to read the entire Drug Facts labeling, including Use, Warnings, and Directions on the product package before use.
Each Doan’s® Extra Strength Caplets contains 580 mg of a pain reliever called Magnesium Salicylate Tetrahydrate – a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
Magnesium salicylate tetrahydrate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) in a group of drugs called salicylates. This medicine works by reducing substances in the body associated with pain, fever, and inflammation.
Do not take Doan’s ® Extra Strength Caplets if you are taking a blood thinning (anticoagulant) drug, steroid drug, or taking other drugs containing prescription or non-prescription NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen or others). Consult your doctor or pharmacist should you have any further questions or concerns regarding the use of Doan’s ® Extra Strength Caplets with other medication(s).
Ask a doctor before use if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, are at risk for stomach bleeding, you have a history of stomach problems such as heartburn, you have asthma, or are taking a diuretic. Yes, you may take Doan’s® Extra Strength Caplets orally, and apply Doan’s® Pain Relieving Cream to the affected areas at the same time.
